   Most everything is stock nowadays. I think the odds are very slim.

   Eyeglass stores are willing to put lenses in frames that you already have as long as the frames are not oversized or oddly shaped. So if they are relatively regular shaped frames, then they will put in the lenses and you only pay for the price of the lenses.

   As long as the frame is in good condition and as long as the frame is made for optical lenses then many places should do it. I would stay away from any old plastic vintage frames because they tend to deteriorate. Putting new lenses in them could damage the frames. As long as the optical has the appropriate equipment (most opticals have edging machines that trace the lens shape before it cuts them) then there should be no problems. The price will depend on what type of lenses you are getting . Whether they are prescription or Plano (non prescription) and if they are either tinted or polarized will make a difference in the price! You should expect to pay at least $60+ for new lenses! I would call around to see which opticals will do this for you!

   I asked that question at Lens Crafters. They said they would not do it because they could not guarantee the frames since they weren’t theirs.

   It depend on the optician. They need to look at the frame to make sure it can withstand the strain of putting new lenses in it. Most optical stores will charge an extra fee for a frame that they do not carry. This fee is to cut a new pattern. It should run you approx. 100.00 and slightly more for polarized lenses which i would highly recommend. Good luck! 8 }

   do it yourself it is very easy to do with regular tools from home any idiot can do what we do lol bending frames etc etc is easy monkies can do it. buy lenses from a company online and u can provide them your frames and they will cut the lenses for u easy and the most cheapest way u can find , ALOT of people are against buying optical products online but they are idiots

   I don’t know what kind of optician Laura is but I wouldn’t trust her with my glasses.
   Yes, we do bend the frames, but we know how to bend them with our breaking them and also put plastic frames in a special heater to soften them a little, if you don’t know what you are doing there you could melt or burn the frame.
   Anyone who tells you they can’t put lenses in your frame is trying to sell you one. Like the other girl said, stay away from plastic Find yourself a good optician for the job, ask your eye doctor who she would recommend, doctors see from the workmanship where good glasses are made and over the years they build a relationship with opticians they like to recommend because they are good.

   it is definitely possible. i have done it many times myself with my own 2 hands.

   but a “monkey”: could probably not do it. it takes *some* amount of training and experience and the right equipment…

   i’m pretty sure lenscrafters has a worldwide policy of refusing to do this. in the profession we call it “POF” or using the “patient’s own frame”…
